Our People
Michael A. Veneman, CPA is the sole shareholder of the firm. He received a bachelors of science degree in business administration, majoring in accounting in 1981 from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He also graduated with honors in 1991 from Xavier University's masters program with a degree in business administration and a concentration in taxation. Michael was licensed as a CPA in 1985 and currently holds an active license in Kentucky and Ohio. He is a member of the Kentucky Society of CPA's.
Linda S. Mason, EA has been employed by the firm for over 35 years. She began her career with E.P. Veneman & Company, the predecessor to Michael A. Veneman, CPA PSC. She received a bachelors of business administration degree, majoring in accounting from Eastern Kentucky University in 1973. Linda is an enrolled agent licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. She received her license in 1976.
Michael B. Veneman, CPA (Brian) is the newest member, graduating and joining the firm in 2003. He received a bachelors of science degree in business administration, majoring in accounting from Northern Kentucky University. He also received a masters degree in business administration from Xavier University in 2006. He was licensed as a CPA in 2009 and currently holds a Kentucky license. Brian also holds a license from the Kentucky Department of Insurance where he is licensed to sell health and life insurance through AFLAC. He is a member of the Kentucky Society of CPAs.
Our History
The original firm, E.P. Veneman & Company was established in 1962 by Elmer P. Veneman. The firm began with general accounting services for individuals and businesses. This developed into strategic planning for individual wealth maintenance, minimization of tax liabilities for businesses and individuals, consulting services and payroll services. Recently we have added a business partner, E-pay, Inc., to our firm for service bureau payroll processing. Michael and Brian are co-owners of the payroll processing company.
We still believe in the traditional principles of the firms founder, but we also believe in keeping up with the needs of businesses and individuals in our rapidly changing technological world.
Our Credentials
Our firm participates in the peer review program prescribed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Kentucky Society of CPA's and the Kentucky State Board of Accountancy. Firms are reviewed every two years. Our firm was last reviewed in June 2010. Firms receive a rating of pass, pass with deficiency(ies), or fail. Michael A. Veneman, CPA PSC received a peer review rating of pass.
Our firm belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. We have been a member since 1998.
